Allergy Shots

For anyone who doesn’t know, I have pretty bad allergies. I am sensitive to mold, grass, trees, hazelnut, ragweed, cats, and a host of other things. So I have been doing this form of allergy treatment known as “immunology”. It’s where you visit the allergist once a week to receive a shot containing the many things you are allergic to in the hopes that your immune system builds up resistance to the allergens over time. For me, my arms swell up pretty bad at the site of the shot, and a swollen lump travels downward on my arm for the next several days. Yeah, it’s pretty gross. I got my shots yesterday and my arm is in swollen mode right now. The interesting thing about this for anyone thinking of doing this treatment is that the swelling after the several weeks I’ve been doing this is not as bad now as it was when I first started. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
